OKC Sweets Baking Camp- Summer 2025 (JUNE)
Designed for ages 9-13, OKC Sweets Baking Camp is an immersive experience for your child! Throughout the course, they will learn the ins and outs of how to weigh, measure, mix, decorate, and even clean up after themselves! As your child pipes macarons, rolls out cookie dough, and measures ingredients for cakes, they will learn essential skills to build their confidence in the kitchen. This class will not only provide personal growth for the individual child, but will also incorporate teamwork as we encourage and support one another in our work.

Daily Schedule:
Day 1: Cakes, Cupcakes, and Sugar Cookie Sandwiches
- Measuring, sifting, rolling, and baking, this day is all about prepping our ingredients and watching science come together to create delicious, baked from scratch cakes, cupcakes and sparkly sugar cookies.
- Cakes include: vanilla cakes and chocolate cupcakes
- Cookies include: sugar cookie sandwiches- students will make, bake, fill and bring these home today!
Day 2: Macarons & Buttercream
- Everyone’s favorite & elusive French dessert, the macaron is such a treat to make! Your child will learn the ins and outs of mixing, the process of macaronage, piping, and tips for baking these beautiful treats to perfection.
- While our macarons rest and bake, we will mix our buttercreams and prepare our bags. once macarons are cool, we will fill with our favorite flavors!
Day 3: Decorating
- This day is all about learning how to crumb coat, base ice, and decorate the cakes they made from scratch on day 1!
- Students will learn to fill and crumb coat their cakes.
- While cakes chill, they will learn to color buttercream, fill piping bags, and will be taught several professional piping styles, before putting their skills to the test on their personal cakes!
- They will take their creations home to share with loved ones!
Details:
- Classes are June 24-26 from 10am-2pm. We will eat lunch daily around noon. Please send a sack lunch. Lunches can be stored in our refrigerator, if needed, and microwaves are available for food that needs to be heated. Snacks and water will be provided.
- Classes are limited to allow each child the individualized attention they need to further their culinary skills.
- We will be standing, working, and baking the majority of our time together, so please have your child wear comfortable, close toed shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Aprons will be provided. Long hair must be tied back.
*Students will be working in a bakery that contains nuts, dairy, fruits, spices, flours, etc.
